ABOUT ME

I was a newby to the author world when I wrote this. I still don't consider myself a writer, but more of a fighter with a pen. It took a significant health event, in fact two events, like the perfect storm in my families life to find my voice. The event, more like a daily crisis, was an Addiction that all but disabled my family from living any resemblance of a normal stable life for years. Through the seven year ordeal, I attempted to write "The BenAddiction" numerous times. Over the seven years we battled through recovery, I realized I couldn't just stay silent to what we had gone through. I had to share the journey, one in which would bestow some of the most significant blessings I had ever encountered in my entire life.

After stepping back and reflecting on the journey, I finally got it! The message was not about protecting yourself and your family from the evils of addiction, but rather how we emerged from the trial and how we became so blessed by having gone through that tribulation period in our lives.

At age 57 I completed the book and began to realize we had a journey to share that would aid others in completing their own journey's, while fighting a battle that may very well help save a loved one's life. Sharing the insights we captured, the blessings received and the stories of people we encountered where priceless to our efforts.

As a blue and white collar professional, wearing both hats at most times in my life, I realized I could approach this book from both perspectives. I could convey our efforts to those in all walks of life. All the while making it personal and identifiable, so others could relate to what people may be dealing with when on the battlefield.

A husband and father of two, a business man and breeder of Llewellin Setters was where I captured joy and purpose in life. Life as I knew it would become almost unmanageable. Today, we have grown in love, experienced Gods grace and learned to put our faith back where it belongs. Funny thing about Faith, we need hurdles in our lives to practice it.
